Family Services has been serving the families of Forsyth, Davie, and Stokes counties since 1905. We provide a wide range of services that are vital to strengthening families and our community.


Family Services
Accredited by the Council On Accreditation for Services to Children & Families. 2007 - work started on the Family Services new home, a "Green" building located in the Southeast Gateway. Reorganized into two division: Safe Relationships and Family Solutions.

Children & Families Counseling Services
2,728+ hours of counseling this year has been provided to over 1,200 clients.

94% of clients who self-reported were very happy with the treatment and counseling they received.

75% of clients showed or experienced improvement.

Head Start
Over 539 children receive healthy meals, health screenings, and classroom instruction allowing them to successfully prepare for kindergarten...and life.

Head Start families are receiving the support they need for a stronger education or a better job.

Adoption & Pregnancy
600+ hours of family support was given to over 36 adoptive families at various stages of the adoption process during 2005/06.

900+ hours of pregnancy counseling were provided.

69% of young women showed showed signs of depression. But after a few sessions with our counselors, 78% showed signs of improvement.

CONTACT Hopelines
Volunteers made nearly 14,000 phone calls to 47 elderly or homebound clilents which allowed them to live independently in a safe and secure way and to provide peace of mind to family caretakers.

85% of all teen callers to Teenline felt a reduction in anxiety and received the helpful information they needed by the end of the call.

Thank you to our donors and volunteers. Through your generous support we are able to counsel families and children, assist women in crisis, ready pre-schoolers for kindergarten, reassure the elderly, be a kind voice and a listening ear on the phone lines, and help families adopt children.
